Design require that data conform
to a normal
distribution. A transformation
involves applying a mathematical operation
to the data to make it conform to a normal
distribution.
For example, in experimental design transformations
are often necessary with experiments that
involve rates because the results typically
do not conform to a normal distribution.
Common transforms include natural log,
reciprocal and squares.
