Project Evaluation & Review Technique (PERT)

PERT is a graphical method (often computerized) for planning and scheduling large projects:

PERT Example

The lines represent activities, the numbers on the lines are durations and the nodes (circles) represent milestones.

CPM (Critical Path Method) is a very similar method with some subtle differences.
