| The Lattice Design is
a type of Mixture
Design that has points at each
corner (a single ingredient) and at the
midpoint of each side (a 50:50 mix of two
ingredients):

The basic lattice is a very
limited design, the augmented
lattice or extreme
vertex designs are usually
preferable.
Note that a mixture design
can have any number of constituents but
it is convenient to illustrate the design
as a mixture with three ingredients. This
gives a triangle in which each corner represents
one of the ingredients.
