| The Control
Plan is a key document in controlling a
process. It specifies the process variables
and the required characteristics of the
product, and how they are to be measured
and controlled. The information in the control
plan is used to generate detailed Work
Instructions and other shop
floor documentation:

Failure
Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
is often used to identify the things that
can go wrong, and how they can be prevented.
The FMEA analysis is then used to generate
the control plan.
