Excel Chart


When we created the frequency table we ticked the check box to obtain a chart output:

I don't like the chart Excel creates because the 'X' axis has the 'Bin' values below the bars of the histogram:

I find this confusing. it looks to me as though that they are the midpoint values. I believe that if the cutpoint convention is used the values should be between the bars (under the tick marks). You can't position them there in Excel so I prefer to change the values to the 'midpoint' convention.

You can change the 'X' axis values using the 'Chart-Source Data and going to 'Category (X) axis labels' under the 'Series' tab:
